I have worked with salons for over twenty years in the U.S. and abroad.  I love shooting beauty and hair.

I offer two day workshops for building images in-house for salons everywhere.  Over the course of a weekend I’ll cover everything you need to know about shooting hair portraits, building a consistent drivetrain of digital captures, acquiring models, clothes styling and group production techniques for magazine submissions, digital archiving and retouching ( computer skills), lighting and sets.

I also offer post workshop support to ensure that the building blocks we have gone over will take your salon into the future by supplying a steady stream of images for social media content, magazine submissions, point of sale, campaigns seasonally, print and digital distribution.

My goal is to establish and maintain your own in-house imaging center with a focus on consistency and excellence.  Together we will grow your market presence, increase market share and expand your bottom line.  I believe this to be be a key component in elevating the stature of your professional profile!

I call this my workshop plus 1.  It includes a day , tuesday, of image generation with 4-6 models in a real – world environment as a production shoot for beauty and hair that will garner you approx 12 images for dissemination and marketing for your business.  Magazine submission, point of purchase , social madonna content and portfolio are just some of the things you will use the images for that we generate on the third day.  If you like, we can use two models for 1 day of editorial fashion captures to illustrate a current trend and style.

Great introduction to the setup of producing consistent brand images with a professional drivetrain.  We will go over all the nuts and bolts and include hands-on exercises, q & a ‘s, resource lists and cover things like different equipment and digital retouching.  This is a great introductory option that will get your business set up for success and production and can be followed up with more education and production days later-  as many as you feel right about.

Model shoot days

I am happy to come to your salon and shoot beauty images for your social media, portfolio , commercial and collateral usages.

Salons have been using a shooting day to forward their stylists skills and marketing for many years with me.

I’ll provide industry insight and guidance for every step of the way.  Email me and let’s get rolling!

With planning and a dose of logistics anything can be achieved.

Do you want a traditional 1 or 2 day beauty and hair shoot?  Email me HERE and we’ll discuss what specific goals you would like to achieve and we will build a solution for you. We will shoot in the convenience and comfort of your business.

A typical beauty/ hair shoot consists of 6-12 models and would include the aspects of wardrobe, make up, model selection and mood board ( if applicable).  All the elements would ideally work together harmoniously, especially if your intentions are to enter any magazine submission or contest.

I don’t have a minimum but two days generally make a bit more sense ( a matter of travel expenses being a baked into one time cost).  A good idea would be a day of shooting lifestyle and beauty models in studio at your workplace ( in addition to stylists BTS and portraits of stylists)  and a second day shooting 2-4 fashion models on location and coordinating with a fashion stylist for submission to digiital fashion magazines (in addition to hair contests, portfolio work, collateral marketing material. etc).   These two days would garner an impressive and prolific amount of images!

Retouching and digital manipulation is unlimited in scope and effect.  For years , as professional photographers, we have shared an axiom of “garbage in, garbage out”.  That means you must capture the image in essence and then refine/ optimize it through retouching but nothing will turn a rotten image into a masterpiece.  That being said, the sky is indeed the limit. Where will your skills take you?
