Imagine yourself in a breathtaking location – a bustling Marrakech market overflowing with color, the majestic glaciers of Iceland bathed in the golden light of the midnight sun, or the serene temples of Angkor Wat at dawn. Now, picture yourself capturing the essence of these places not just with your eyes, but through your lens, guided by a professional photographer. Photographic travel workshops offer an unbeatable combination of fun, learning, and adventure.

These workshops are more than just photography lessons. They’re immersive experiences where you’ll explore new destinations with a pro by your side. You’ll learn essential techniques like mastering composition, playing with light, and capturing the soul of a place. But the workshops also go beyond the technical. You’ll get insider tips on navigating unfamiliar locations, discover hidden gems off the beaten path, and most importantly, have a blast doing it. By the end, you’ll return home with a stunning portfolio of travel photos, a broadened skillset, and memories that will last a lifetime.

What travel and photography mean to me:

It’s the place, the food, and the people.  It’s life, death, culture and cheap tourist trinkets.  Its getting up early and drinking the rising sun and staying up late to swim in the stars.  Its everything.

My travel photography started when I was 17.  I worked hard and acquired an academic scholarship sponsored by Rotary Club International that allowed me to study abroad as a foreign exchange student from America.  I spent two months roaming the many countries of europe, africa and scandinavia via the Interrail travel pass system.  For my immersion year in Norway, my mom had bought me a pentax k1000 camera and that’s all it took.  I never looked back.

I developed my visual outlook and ability to record the world and it’s people and showed others my passion.  Eventually I turned my passion into my business and for 25  plus years I  worked with designers, corporations and magazines around the globe for editorial, advertising campaigns, catalogs and collections.

I will post upcoming planned travel workshops here.

Some places I know the very best?  Ireland.  Spain.  England.  Norway.  And f course my hometown of Atlanta (which has become Hollywood’s home) and Southern America, with its diverse Revolutionary War era coast on the Atlantic, the trembling earth and alligators of the Okefenokee swamp and the ancient Appalachian Mountains of North Georgia.

Where would you like to go?  Send me a suggestion and I can make a custom itinerary for us.  My minimum amount to travel is 2 people and my maximum is 10.  I would love to show you how i photograph the people and sights on the rugged and beautiful west coast of Ireland ( the Aran Islands are a favorite of mine) or perhaps the City of London, which I consider the design capitol of the world.  Come with me on a train ride from the magical Viking city of Oslo Norway across the country to the coast of Bergen and the fjords, and even up to the Midnight Sun and the land of the Lapps(Sami).  I travel.  I photograph.  Let’s do it together and enjoy the fellowship and friendship it offers.  What are you waiting for?
